Of course, first our matrix have to be damaged so we can fix it. Such ominous information as above, it is a bad sign :-). However, if we see it, to fix the matrix we need to turn on RAIDXperta. Run the application icon on the desktop, or start menu.
Will open the Web browser window, and login page.
The default value as you should enter either as a Login ID and Password is admin.
Our RAID 10 is in critical condition. As many as two of the four drives are damaged. Fortunately, the such combination, which don't killed our matrix completely.
The repair we begin from the transition to the Rebuild tab.
On the tab, we see two single drives, which aren't members of any array.
You'll be warned that the reconstruction process permanently erase all data from repaired drive. We confirm OK.
The process of reconstruction in progress. The time, of the reconstruction will depend on the size and disks performance. In addition, we see here a window of events that can be opened using the button "Show Event" at the top of the application window (in the screenshot, button is now "Hide Event" which we hide the window).
When ends the reconstruction process of the first drive, we will be able to choose a second one and start rebuilding by clicking on Start Now.
Now under the reconstruction is the second drive. Again, the time depends on the size of the matrix / drives and their performance.
After completing the reconstruction of two drives our RAID 10 is now fully efficient.
The process of removing the matrix in RAIDXpert tool is very simple. After starting and logging on to the application, go to the "Logical Drive View".
Go to the Delete tab.
We select which of arrays you want to delete and click on "Submit".
You will be asked whether you are confident of decision, confirm by clicking OK.
You will be also informed about the removed of all data in the process of removing the matrix. We confirm OK.
